I just got a text from SNP three minutes ago saying the park's emergency number is out of service, so I'm not sure if that's related or a sign that containment isn't going well. Fingers crossed, but bring on the rain!

I was out intermittently between 7pm-1am. I gave in because the wind on the mountain finally broke through my layers. Not sure if anything happened after 1am but I think it was a case of the brighter shows happening before midnight.

Yes! There's a larger one in my neighborhood that turns a gorgeous yellow every year, and then true to your comment it gives up one day and puts all its leaves on the ground.
