It is indeed. One of my favourite museum objects with a great story behind it. The spikiness, to the everlasting relief of the fish that produced the coprolites, is related to the formation of the clay ironstone nodule surrounding the coprolite and not part the coprolite itself.

Yes, it was exciting to see this in person for the first time! We have a paper in preparation which - hopefully - will be published in the spring.
