We revisited Carl Franklin’s LA noir “Devil in a Blue Dress” the other night for the first time since its release in 1995. As good as I remembered. It felt even more pointed and urgent due to our current situation, partly because of the film’s MacGuffin. If you know, you know.

Kudos to Only Murders in the Building for scoring the opening sequence of S5 E2 with “It’s a Hap-Hap-Happy Day”. The song was first heard in Max Fleischer’s 1939 animated feature “Gulliver’s Travels” and in numerous Fleischer and Famous Studios cartoon shorts that followed.
