This is bc for the first year or so, young Sam was mostly asked to extrapolate these so-called “sales pieces” using orthographic projection from the plans already established by the “senior” set designers and architects. Soon, thankfully, they discovered Sam’s talent as a concept artist.

And as I’m sure you know, there are hundreds of photos plus lots of footage of him after this. He still had lots of gas in the tank btwn July and Nov 1966 before the effects of a lifetime of tobacco got too him.

“Basket weave fencing,” something I’ve never seen anywhere, at least not at this oversized scale, except early Disneyland. Mostly around Tomorrowland. Who came up with it/where did it come from, in terms of a practical barrier. I may never know.
