Actually I feel the need to clarify that with mundanity I mean in the sense that the entire world is built around the monster's existence and it's just kind of a fact of life, but you don't get as much of monsters just casually being like casual parts of jobs bc ppl are usually scared of them lol

Being a rider *is* a rarity but mostly in the sense that it's only a few scattered tribes that actually attempt to bond with monsters, so monsters are simultaneously ever present in the setting but the whole monster collecting aspect still makes your journey a relatively rare one

I'd add too that by virtue of MH already leaning into the idea of having to live in a world populated by monsters the Stories games do have a bit of "mundanity amidst fantasy" thing similar to pokemon, as the world's entire infraestructure has to take their existence and threat into account
