How many will defect to Reform Ltd?
November 24, 2025 at 6:36 PM
U.K. universities have seen a drop in overseas students. Plus many have a budget shortfall, so the impact is on staff redundancies resulting in larger tutor groups, loss of non academic staff, loss of facilities, loss of spending in uni towns and cities, loss of innovation support locally.

No, it isn’t true. Women’s rights will be destroyed by these fascists.

Christ. It’s 2025. Have they only just remembered 50% of the population?

Trump, currently destroying US institutions inc health care (lost measles free status), lowest approval rating, cognitively challenged, sues any media who don't agree with him, bullying BBC for a doc which was aired a year after he lost the election (the one he still states was stolen from him).

And no, you can’t just simple run a cable across the pavement to your EV. You can charge without a charger and there are a complex set of legalities about safety, fire risk, public liability.

So as I said from the beginning, in order to have cheap charging you need to have parking outside your house where you can charge. It’s not possible to have a charger installed in large areas where there is no off road parking. Public chargers are triple the cost.

You didn’t say “if”, I did. I said it’s cheaper “if” you can charge from home. You followed that with comments amounting to I should move so I had a drive and it was “bollocks” when I said that was not an affordable option.
November 11, 2025 at 11:07 PM
Because you'll be driving on roads and causing wear and tear. Buying electricity doesn't include that tax.
November 11, 2025 at 1:41 PM
You need to consider other peoples' lives, other areas outside of your home area and not just yell "bollocks" because I state that buying a home with off road parking for cheap charging is not possible or affordable in my area.
November 11, 2025 at 1:38 PM
You however, condescendingly tell me to move to somewhere with off road parking. I have explained where I live, in a Northern Georgian city, there are very few homes with off road parking and certainly not that are affordable for me. There are no other affordable solutions to charging in UK network.

I wasn't "cross". I'm stating the fact that millions of people don't have off road or designated parking which would make driving an electric car at least 10p per mile cheaper (i.e. considerably cheaper power) than commercial public charging stations. Thus excluding them from EVs due to cost.
November 11, 2025 at 1:33 PM
I have the choice limited to what I can afford. I live in a small northern city, majority of homes have no off road parking, no garage or designated parking. I live near my job, love the place and can afford. It's not an alien concept. I don't build a home around a car.
November 11, 2025 at 1:32 PM
You have the air of smugness. You seem to think that people have huge choice about where they live. Are you aware of the relationship between salary, mortgage and location? Millions live in homes with no reserved parking or driveways. It’s obvious that more options for charging points are required.

It’s called Biomimicry and there are lots of examples in engineering, including surgical glue inspired by slug slime, Velcro inspired by sticky seeds, glass windows visible to birds, wind turbine blades inspired by hump back whale fins. Uni of Central London has a Biomimicry engineering dept.

I can’t park outside my house most of the time. It’s a public street with no reserved residents parking. Workers, shoppers, worshippers, parents for school drop off, multiple student cars park in the street. Maybe find out some reality before condescending simplistic responses.

Lancashire County Council, led by Reform Ltd plans to sell 5 care homes and close senior clubs whilst one of their councillors has a private care business. Residents of the homes have no idea what will happen to them.
November 6, 2025 at 7:38 AM
They’re cheaper to run if you have off road parking for charging at home.
November 6, 2025 at 7:28 AM
Yawn. Reform Ltd spend £75,000 on flags whilst cutting libraries. Farage "earns" over £1million from his 11 other "jobs". Farage says young people should earn less than current minimum wage.

Yawn

Corbyn isn't a communist.

It's almost as if pigmentation isn't linked with positive societal contribution.
November 4, 2025 at 1:27 PM
What’s that got to do with Corbyn? He isn’t far left.
November 4, 2025 at 1:03 PM
100% this. I’m sick of women’s daily experiences in public places being ignored and/or politicised depending pigmentation if the perpetrators.
