While visiting the Texas Prison Museum, I learned about Julia Standley, a #librarian at The Huntsville Unit, who was killed as a hostage in a 1974 prison seige and raid by prison guards and Texas Rangers. There's a book on the subject, Eleven Days in Hell by Harper/University of North Texas Press.
