I'm proud that I played a small role editing this report.

The new undersea cable linking Tunisia and Italy is presented as a win-win project. But as the report shows, it is just the latest version of colonialism: Europe meeting its decarbonisation goals at the expense of Tunisia's sovereignty.
Tunisia’s public utility, STEG, risks being sidelined. Domestic renewable energy production stalls, public ownership weakens, and the country becomes dependent on imports. This is not energy sovereignty, it’s dependency dressed as progress. New TNI report: www.tni.org/en/publicati...

Land is life. Who has access to what land and under what conditions partly determines who gains and who loses. Land politics shape food, climate, labour, migration, democracy, and geopolitics. Democratizing land regimes is difficult but absolutely necessary for a just future.
