This week included weird middling stuff, including a hard-boiled slasher spoof, a off-beat noir where the police pull a con, an early Roland Emmerich Top Gun/Outlander mash-up, and a noir where the city literally becomes a character.

Bach's Toccata and Fugue in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's such a beautiful expression of the darkness in Nemo, plus I always loved the idea that there were whales hearing the Nautilus go by and thinking, "Damn, that guy's in a mood."
