Speaking of books, this is my story so far. 4 books with a total of 16 editions, all written between 2006 and 2023.
While I am grateful that Google apparently has decided to provide an escape hatch, I am underwhelmed by the enthusiasm. Honestly, a little bit too much of dragging feet IMHO. Still, a win for the community. For now I am grateful and confident

The thing I love the most about Linux is the number of distros. That's not ment ironic or sarcastic, this is what makes Linux so great. There will for sure one day be a distro putting AI center stage. That's fine. Because we do have a choice.
I've been on one Microsoft OS or the other since the DOS days, but this "agentic" nonsense might be the thing that finally forces me into using Linux exclusively.
Windows boss Pavan Davuluri has tweeted that the platform is evolving into an agentic OS, sparking major push back from users online. buff.ly/icyxX4W

Happy Sunday. Just finished the slides for my #DevFest Hamburg talk about Responsive UIs with Compose Multiplatform. Thrilled to see that a topic I advocated long before it was cool finally hit mainstream. Anyway, hope to see many of you in Hamburg

That's called a notification chip in Android, and it's available if you are the promoted ongoing notification. Use setShortCriticalText() to set the content.
I have a repo with an example: github.com/tdcolvin/Exa...

OpenAI pirated large numbers of books and used them to train models.

OpenAI then deleted the dataset with the pirated books, and employees sent each other messages about doing so.

A lawsuit could now force the company to pay $150,000 per book, adding up to billions in damages.

So until I returned from my latest gig, I considered ChromeOS pretty solid. But it started entering account recovery whenever the device is rebooted which is not only annoying but also pretty disturbing. Basic things like that just should not happen

Today I learned that today and tomorrow the Piccadilly Line doesn't go to Heathrow, because of god knows what. Anyway, so I'll be trying the Elisabeth line. At least it should be easy from Angel. Modern times 😂 Just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry 🤣
