The bright magenta stop was supposed to be that visual flag, but I hit some snags in the production and needed to shift my focus toward getting it done by deadline. Best thing about news graphics is the rapid iteration. Next time will be better!

Fair point! And if I were to approach this again I’d probably take a slightly different angle with that ramp. My original intent was to show the hot areas in the US and how they rivaled traditionally “known hot places” in the world, like the Sahara.

A byline should reflect the work that went into producing the story. If it takes a dozen people to report and build, a dozen names should be on the byline.

Pennsylvania, which was a pivotal state for both campaigns. The still frame doesn’t do it justice and we walk through it in the story.
