In honor of Susan Stamberg’s passing, I made Mama Stamberg’s Cranberry Relish for Thanksgiving. It was a surprise hit for those willing to try it.
As an avid @npr.org fan, I always listened with anticipation for Stamberg’s recipe segment and laughed at how she would sneak it in. Funny. And yummy.

Since my daughter is now a cheerleader, this is my first time experiencing the weird New England tradition of high school football on Thanksgiving. I don’t get the idea of having a school event on a family holiday. This was not a Midwestern tradition. Can someone explain?

I feel like my 12-year-old and I accomplished something today. Before and after photos.

These guys are really hoping you’re having a vegetarian Thanksgiving!

I’ve been in Atlanta almost a week, and today is the first day the air is clear enough to see the hills on the horizon. It’s still pretty hazy, though. I’d forgotten what air pollution does to the sky and hadn’t realized how clear the skies back in Boston are.

Welp, guess it’s time to invade Venezuela!

If you need to be uplifted, give a listen to the Moorehouse Glee Club singing, “Me Hab Home Een de Rock.”
Enough to restore your faith in humanity.

Okay, somebody’s algorithm is clearly off. Whoever thought an ad evoking Elon Musk would make me want to buy a product obviously knows nothing about me.

I am fortunate to work in a beautiful place. It’s important to pause and appreciate the world around you now and then.

On Isaiah’s promise that God will level the high places and raise up the low, he recognizes that not everyone will be happy. “When you are accustomed to privilege, parity and equity may sound like oppression.”

Listening to the Reverend Doctor Senator Raphael Warnock preach at BU this morning made me wish I lived in Georgia so I could vote for him. Such an inspiring ability to provide a Biblical basis for progressive politics!

The dangers I face cycling to work: bad drivers, potholes, and today a gang of 22 turkeys in the heart of Cambridge. The world is a dangerous place.

So, the results of Tuesday’s elections are fake, but “if you keep voting this way you might not be voting much longer.”

I am not regretting my life choices at the moment.

The swinging trapeze was especially cool.

One of the perks of being married to someone in the arts is that you get tickets to cool performances. We had a great family outing to the Big Apple Circus. The trapeze, aerial, and gymnasts were amazing. So fun!

They go between playing videos and talking to the crowd. Great entertainment for all the kids.

Props to the neighbor who goes all out for Halloween.

Today’s @bostonglobe.com cartoon is right on target. Trump destroys things, then “negotiates” a deal where the end result is worse than what we started with, but most media dutifully report uncritically on his great success.

This gives me more hope than almost anything I’ve read lately. A 13% drop in support among a core MAGA group is significant. It suggests the documentation of ICE raids, Trump’s blatant abuse of power, and the protests against it are having an impact.

So, I’m newish to being a dog owner. How do you convince your dog that it’s okay to be a little sad sometimes? I mean, the cats totally get it. But the dog wants me to be constantly in a good mood, and that’s just not me.

Having conservative friends on facebook helps keep me appraised of what Red America thinks. Apparently the MAGAworld talking point is that Trump’s demolition of the East Wing is comparable to renovations under Obama.

Seeing how my conservative Facebook friends reacted to the No Kings protests shows the protests got under more than just Trump’s skin. One guy must have posted five times insisting Trump’s actions are no different than Biden under Covid.

I was not the only person who rode his bike to the rally. The bike parking made Boston look like Amsterdam.
