I guess for me, it hits different because I see the person being genuinely curious and using the language they know.

Which is something I see all the time with my students, and I guess I take it seriously when someone is trying. It burns me when people judge that.

Weirdly, the only reply was someone who was, shall we say, not kind.

I truly don't understand people sometimes.

I'm trying to give you the benefit of doubt here. My preference is that you're not going to be rude in my mentions, and maybe hope against hope you consider what I'm saying.

Look, I don't know you and you obviously don't know me. I don't know why you find it so offensive that a reader asked a question out of genuine curiosity, or why you're so offended that I had the temerity to point out that people were being cruel to someone who is trying to figure something out.
