I ordered 6 pairs of socks from Bombas. They sent me 3 pairs in the first package, and have now sent me 2 more, which leaves one more pair out there somewhere. This feels…wasteful.

Jesus Christ just tell him people will like him if he extends them indefinitely. His rich buddies won't, but they don't actually get the money anyway. Can the Democratic leadership not read a few articles on Psychology Today about how to deal with narcissists before we all die? FFS.

No, no, it's actually DELIGHTFUL when a brand who is already sending me 2-3 emails a day wants me to sign up for a text list to get early access to a sale when the whole reason I signed up for those emails is to get early access to a sale. Like, why are you gatekeeping me giving you money? WEIRD.

First refuel for my new car. It wasn’t empty yet, but I have a lot of driving this week so I wanted to top off the tank. Bought about 7 gallons of fuel and spent $30. My last car needed a full refill once a month (I work from home) on which I’d spend about $60 for a 13 gal tank. Already saving!!!

Someone is shooting a scene for something outside in front of my building and I am very tempted to peek outside but I don't want to ruin the shot (I have my blinds closed). This feels very hollywood, but they are taking a long time for run and gun.

I had time today so I cleaned my fridge and wow, that thing was gross. It’s a good thing I’m the only person here. But now it’s clean! Yay! Will conquer the microwave tomorrow.

Once again: my dad spent the last 10 years of his life trying to convince us we didn't need hot water for showers or washing dishes. He just didn't want to pay the bill anymore. So he made it a loyalty test. If you love him, you'll agree with him. That's what this is. That's what it always is.

Just had the least dramatic interaction with Spectrum ever to get my bill lowered! It's very silly that I have to call every year, but one of the women I spoke to actually told me to put it in my phone to remind me to call next year and check on discounts. But my bill is $60 lower+ higher speeds.

One day, I may learn how I ended up on a text list for land owners in Beaufort, SC, but I will absolutely never be able to entirely get myself off the list, no matter how many times I tell them I have no property to sell.

I know someone who used to tell me we didn’t need a union because we can just negotiate better rates but eventually even her EP-level negotiating power ran out because funding disappeared and she immediately about-faced. Negotiating is not possible when you aren’t in a position of power.

I started a can of soda for the first time in several weeks yesterday around 3 PM. Around 5ish I dumped what was left. I think I drank about 3/4 of it? Anyway, I didn’t sleep a wink last night, so I guess that’s it for caffeine in my life. We had a good run!

The call box on my apt building is analog and management has no interest in updating it because the landlady still has her landline. In her defense, reception in our neighborhood isn't great. In LA. I can only imagine rural coverage.
AT&T has been trying to get rid of landlines in California for YEARS because they are expensive and annoying to maintain, with shrinking market share. The people who use them, however, REALLY need them for safety and communication esp in rural areas with limited cell coverage.
They rely on copper landlines for emergencies. AT&T could threaten their lifeline
AT&T is fighting to ease regulations requiring landlines, which cost it $1 billion per year in California. It has spent big on lobbying.

I have done the thing where I call like a grownup and ask questions of the nice people at the insurance company and actually got answers that helped me figure things out instead of just winging it and it will actually save me some money.

Watching the Ken Burns doc. I appreciate how far the team has come since the Civil War doc. Starting the narrative with the indigenous people already here is the correct choice in my humble producer-y opinion.

Terrible, tragic news: they've changed the recipe for the TJ's dark chocolate covered peppermint Jo-Jos and the main taste is some sort of chemical. They're TERRIBLE.

The most important thing to a narcissist is to be loved by everyone. BUT! Because they lack emotional maturity, their perception of "loved" is skewed, so generally, they perceive attention as people loving them. Exceptions: Don't believe whatever they say? Don't love them. Disagree? Don't love them.

I have to run a few errands in the rain tomorrow and it is very distressing. I grew up in FL, so I can drive in the rain, but the rest of y'all? Not so much. Maybe just stay home? Tell your friends to stay home. Everyone stay home! LA STAY HOME! (except for me; I have stuff to do)
