I dont get the Virtual Safety Car rules. Gap between Norris and Piastri when it started. 3.3 seconds. When it ended. 0.6... and well within striking distance. Nothing mentioned.

that was like an old school F1 race. Circa mid 2000's. tense but the winner never really in doubt... also... the Lawson train at then end reminded me of the Trulli Train IYKYK

Always remember that Starship Troopers got TORCHED in initial reviews because no one could figure out Verhoven was making fun of fascism. Like, NPH wears a *literal* Waffen SS uniform, and people thought it was a run-of-the-mill sci-fi action flick.
So one thing that I think is basically key to understanding this cultural moment is that for a lot of people, the aesthetics of order, strength, and masculinity override the thematic coding of the narrative objects in question.
I honestly thought right wing guys not understanding Homelander from The Boys was a villain was a bit. The fact that they’re that obtuse is terrifying.
