The remembrances that sneak up on a tired soul may sometimes stir us, but there is no tomorrow in that... Where in the world did the era beyond my memories and the people who lived in it disappear to? -Daido Moriyama

Ganesh knows his name now. I’ve captured it! Now, I know when he doesn’t come when I call it is a direct act of rebellion!

Surely no child, and few adults, have ever watched a bird in flight without envy.

I truly loved these Scottish Fold cats. They were my companions in some of the hardest years of my life. 15 years, they died within weeks of each other. Loverboy and ShuShu. They have been gone over a decade and I can’t think of them without crying.

Bertie (ginger) and Ganesh (smoke tabby) cleaning each other. It’s touching, right? Until you realize that it’s a prelude to their wrestling match.

Moving my life cross country in an old Saturn held together with duct tape. Sister made me stop at #WallDrug. I took a picture of her and myself. She’s buying a pocket knife engraved with Jesus. I’ve got the red sunglasses on…this pretty much sums up our relationship

HOPE is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard ;
And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’m freezing my behind off…not to mention my freezing arthritic knees…waiting for this sweet sparrow to come out and pose. No go. I did get a peek though!

This is a fantastic piece of surreal political commentary from the late, great Sam Gross. This one is particularly apt!

I still have the book, “I am Blind, and my Dog is Dead”. Bought it in 1978.
