It's amazing that Nascar didn't settle when they realized that these emails were going to get out. Even if they aren't crushed by a jury, the self-inflicted harm to their reputation and the damage that these will cause to their relationship to owners and drivers is staggering.

That distinction seems to be lost on some people. When I saw your first post, I assumed that you anticipate that people will continue buying your product for years to come. You don't seem to make all of your money in one shot, because you expect word of mouth to work in your favor.

My experience with Evil Hat is that you make games for the long term. When I run Fate, for example, at a meetup, the players come back the next time and tell me that they bought their own copy.
