Just Platinumed Astro Bot, had a lot of fun with the game and ready to put it down. I have some quibbles but nothing that kept me from overall really liking the game.

Finally loaded up Astro Bot in the wake of it winning GOTY at TGAs. Good old fashion fun, really good balance of introducing new and fun mechanics and revisiting mechanics with new challenges. Still kinda surprised it won the big award but it definitely is a great game.

I get annoyed very easily now seeing what I feel are uncharitable or unfair opinions and I’m constantly fighting the urge to argue with people.

TGA was good, announcements were good, awards themselves still weirdly shafted, still too many non-gameplay trailers but overall good showing.

What’s the general consensus about “ATB” systems in JRPGs? To me it feels like an awkward middle point between turn based and action that just doesn’t work for me. I am working my way through all the mainline FFs and nearing the end of 4 and I’m a little worried about 4-9 all being ATB games.

I still have my Twitter account and still check my feed there from time to time (just did now) but it’s hard to overstate how bad the vibes are on there. Not sure if it’s gotten worse recently or just getting some actual distance from it has made it really obvious how negative the feed on it is.

I’ve been digging back into my long running playthru of BG3, and I think there’s so much to talk about with this game. It’s deserving but I think the fact that most discussion around it has just been “it’s great” is somewhat of a disservice. Fertile soil for fruitful discussion about game design.

Been watching a friend of mine play FFXVI after having beaten it myself when it originally came out, and man I really love the world, story and characters of FFXVI. Easy to get sucked back in.

The Starmie EX card has to be the most busted card in the new Pokemon TCG app right now. Completely absurd value/power from that card.

Had a feeling last night playing Metaphor, I think I’m approaching the halfway point based on playtime and I was thinking man I’m still 40+ hours out but I’m not ready for it to be over. I want more more more. Last time I felt so strongly like that was when I played Persona 3 for the first time.

Just followed literally hundreds of indie/dev/art/game accounts with the starter pack thing people have been sharing. Love to see it!

Happy to be a trendsetter on this one.

Truly a disaster but hopefully this will give them an opportunity to relaunch and make something of this game. I played the beta and did not like it myself, but I am surprised it flopped so hard. Interested to see what they do to this game and how it will look when it comes back.
