But Steinhardt? Was persona non grata for a second before people started soliciting him again, just less publicly this time. For example. Art Green, defended publicly by people who had no business doing so (were you assaulted by him??) & as a result is still out there teaching. I can keep going.

The only reason Steven M Cohen's comeback attempt got thwarted was bc R. Karen Reiss Medwed & I were equally upset about it in a listserv convo & had the time that day to draft a letter & get a bunch of people to sign early, so others followed suit easily. (Organizing 101: Peer pressure).

The only reason Steven M Cohen's comeback attempt got thwarted was bc R. Karen Reiss Medwed & I were equally upset about it in a listserv convo & had the time that day to draft a letter & get a bunch of people to sign early, so others followed suit easily. (Organizing 101: Peer pressure).
There is a chronic issue in the community that involves protecting the donor class (and Esteemed Scholars, and Important Administrators*, etc) to the full extent that they can get away with it. Who is harmed is irrelevant. Pressure level is all.

Jewish community gonna keep saying that there's no moral issue with Wexner since the money for the fellowships has been technically separate from Epstein money for a minute, and those child sex trafficking notes in the emails are just, you know, allegations.

This is NOT my area of specialty. A 2nd look teaches me that Ishtar seems to've influenced the development of Aphrodite--again, not my lane. My cursory glance response was based on the idea that Ishtar's symbology focused on the lion, bird, tree, and Aphrodite's more on seashells, roses, swans.
