I brought a friend into VRC tonight who had been on but not into the rave scene too much
So I took them on a small tour of the music community for the night
They were TRANSFIXED by the map and the event, we stayed there the longest tonight

Heavier bass music is the main stuff at dozens of clubs

Imo, no shortage of heavier bass music in VRC and I think the hate is overblown/the haters are just much louder than the fans of it

Prerecorded sets are necessary for certain types of events or due to technical limitations
But if someone puts on their set and then walks down to go talk to the audience as opposed to doing crowd work, working on visuals, etc then imo, that isn't much of a performance

Butttt most of the residents are also my good friends so I just see it as helping a homie out if they need/want more bookings

As an event coordinator/club owner, I kinda end up as a promoter/manager for our DJs (especially resident DJs)
Not solely because they kind of do that themselves as well
But if I see opportunities, I let the DJs know about it and help get them connected with the other groups/coordinators

There's a huge difference between someone co-opting PLUR for their own self-interests
Or they like the idea of PLUR but then don't actually live it
