That reminds me a bit of the approach I've used for some of my artworks; I have some art where I form out the silhouette using a shape brush, then lock the alpha and color it in from there. I usually try and keep the outermost part of the silhouette so that there's an outline around it

Thank you so much for answering my questions about your workflow! I found that Krita has the MyPaint brush engine and a default brush that acts similar to what you're describing (specifically the default brush named "i) Wet Paint Plus (MyPaint)"). I'm gonna go try it out now!

Ah! That would also give access to pixel art palettes and speed up finding appealing color combinations. The gradients you use for communicating depth are so realistic, and the surface textures are gorgeous

Your art and coloring style are some of my new favorites that I've seen! What program(s) do you use for sketching out concept art? The grid lines on some of your drawings remind me of Inkscape, but I don't know how to get such painterly shading like that

The one and only thing I would make a suggestion on changing is giving him back his wider, square-like proportions, but that's my taste
