I actually think this can be parsed further into the Americans they CARE ABOUT don't care much about democracy because those Americans have never had theirs threatened BEFORE, so they don't really understand they're at risk. And Dems don't wanna do THAT heavy lifting, the information dissemination.
I get this but … I also think they have realized (correctly) that Americans don’t really care all that much about democracy “being on the line”. Or fascism.

The Dems leadership has made it a documented effort to focus on health care and views the other shit as distractions. A military takeover of cities and potentially invoking an act from 1807 isn't hyperbole or a distraction.
