The bit about Siedah Garrett comes from Edie Lehmann Boddicker, who worked with Siedah as a backup vocalist with Madonna. Edie noted that Madonna would interrupt recording sessions to ask, "Who's off-key? Is it me?" Finally Siedah had enough and snapped, "Yes, girl, it's *you!*"

I read a piece this afternoon by Thom Hartmann (who, aside from his rah-rahing for Bernie et al, does write thoughtful political/historical articles) on the fascistic crisis precipitated by John Adams, the Federalists, and the Alien & Sedition Acts. We *have* been here before.
