This is lovely!

We have a volunteer community orchard group in our town, who are transforming a barren bit of land on the rubbly margin of a recreation ground, to a lovely little oasis.

So great to see more of this! 😊

I found a little pyritised ammonite like this on my geology ‘O Level’ trip in Dorset many moons ago. It was so beautiful. Then my Dad cleared out boxes in our loft years later and threw it out without asking me. I’ve never forgiven him!

All I have left is my ‘rough book’ sketch!

Ok, this is like a ‘draft’ version! I need to make more leaves and add ‘stems’ to them.

The flower is a practice run. Now that I’ve cracked it, I need to order lilac coloured yarn to make all the flowers.

The fun (difficult bit) will be layering & stitching on leaves & flowers to the wall 😬.

I love to crochet, but I’d never be able to do it fast enough for #GameOfWool. 😬

In her famous speech to the UN on climate change, Thatcher said the markets would fix things.

That went so well, didn’t it?

I’m just so frustrated that I’m still trying all of this 30 years later!

These are mine from 1993.

Indeed.

Have you read Empire of Normality by Robert Chapman? These angles are explored, focusing on The Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution & Capitalism. Very interesting.

In my garden right now, this lovely red Poppy…..in Autumn!

Thinking of my ancestors bombed and killed in Scarborough and thankful that my father & uncles survived.

A new red Poppy has bloomed by our pond. In November. In Autumn. 😳

I was gobsmacked the first time I saw them!

We must change law to protect mature trees.🌳

An organisation nearby felled a big Walnut tree deliberately prior to planning application.

We flagged it to Planning but they approved without compensations as ‘no TPO’. Yet they won’t assess for TPO unless imminently threat. How would we know? 😡

If a real prince can fall, what message does this send about a would-be ‘king’? 🤞

Watching George Clarke ‘Homes In The Wild’ filmed at Marlborough Sounds, right now!

I should’ve taken a pic of the pirate ship home he was on before. It was fun! 🙂

That’s great!

Here’s a bit of my nettle patch in the front garden last year.
We now have one growing in the rear too, behind a young Birch tree, so might redesign front now, with meadow flowers & shrubs for hedgehog!

Crochet has many great benefits 🙂

Hedgehog update❣️

We still have a visitor! 🦔🐾🌱

They may not have eaten at our feeding station for the last two nights, but there’s fresh evidence they’ve been in the front garden overnight! 🙂

Crochet puffer fish.

Tactile, hardy and fun. But you’d have to make it first!

Who said vegan food is expensiv?

Today’s lunch: cooked smoked tofu with hot tinned tomatoes on toast, garnished with a sprig of fresh coriander gifted by my neighbour from her garden!

I’m a Ragwort supporter!

The bad press is ‘big time’ around here. Someone pulled up a plant on a verge near us that was host to lots of Cinnabar caterpillars. It was wilting badly, so I took it & placed it by our ‘monster’ Ragwort and the caterpillars transferred onto it. 👍

Look forward to it!

Here’s my monster Ragwort that popped up in my lawn this year! It attracted so many different insects. 🙂

Excellent! 😊

I saw some Vegan Runners at VCO in August! You can see the stall here!
