Apologies, I kept forgetting to update you all on the final count of #shalphaweek! With 810 total finds, 741 of which were from Z-A, we over doubled the number of the last event!

I wrapped up my #shalphaweek with a 10 hour stream, two big pink bunnies and 100 permutations down on the next Eevee outbreak I'll be in jail with for the next few months!

But the event isn't over! I'm accepting overtime submissions until 11:59pm EST on Sunday, so keep hunting & get those finds in!

After 256 permutations, I finally found the female shiny alpha Kricketot, my 3rd find of #shalphaweek!

Did this open the floodgates and allow me to find a ton more shalphas today to balance out the awful luck? No! Instead, I found another 15 spawn Eevee MO!

I guess I'll see you all in Eevee jail 🙃

Since this Kricketot refuses to shine after 248 perms, I'm taking a break, time to try out the ZA overload method for the first time! We've also hit 400 submissions for #shalphaweek, already beating the last one! Thank you all for the support, and congrats on the finds!

The #shalphaweek bingo event had some wild finds today, including this Decidueye from Toast and a clutch Shalpha Ekans by ShinyCatherine in Lysandre Labs that netted our team (pink) the win! I pulled a Luigi by doing absolutely nothing, but it was still loads of fun, thanks to everyone that joined!

Took the day off to relax by meeting up with @droomish.standingintheodds.com for a drink before #shalphaweek starts tomorrow!

I'll be live every day for a week starting tomorrow, I hope you all are as excited as I am! I'll be hunting in both Arceus and Z-A, we'll see how many shalphas I can find!

Finally, for anyone looking for an estimate number to grab for the odds of finding a non-fixed shiny alpha, I made this small chart for you to reference! Just check on Serebii the rate at which your target spawns as an alpha, and look at the row for if you have charm or not! #shalphaweek 🧵 (5/5)

The "spawn overload" method is the most powerful way of hunting in this game, but it also can be quite tricky to set up. @papajefe.bsky.social has done incredible work experimenting with this method and creating multiple video guides as well as a great series of info-graphics #shalphaweek 🧵 (3/5)

With all the different ways of resetting in this game, it's important to make sure your spawns are actually changing so you don't end up wasting your time. If you can't hear the 'mon you're trying to reset, then that likely means it hasn't spawned in, like if it's on a building! #shalphaweek 🧵 (2/5)

With the 2nd #shalphaweek coming up very soon, I wanted to write up a thread with all the info I currently know about hunting in Z-A! This is a general overview with just the important stuff, but if you're looking for more details, I highly recommend searching for other guides! 🧵 (1/5)

Unlike Legends: Arceus, however, most normal spawns have reasonable alpha rates that make hunting for shiny alphas actually feasible! Here's a breakdown of the three different spawn categories:" There are three vertical text boxes underneath, the first of which is titled "Inside The Wild Zones" and reads "While every Wild Zone has at least one fixed alpha, all other spawns can only have alphas once you've done the respective "Surveying Wild Zone" research task, after which all non-fixed spawns have between a 5 and 20% chance to be alpha." The second vertical text box is titled "Outside The Wild Zones" and says "There are many fixed alpha spawns that can be found outside of the Wild Zones, and many other spawns have the 5-20% alpha chance by default, however some spawns cannot be alpha, such as the birds on the light poles and all Eevee spawns outside of Wild Zones. Please check Serebii to see the specifics on any spawns you're interested in!" The final vertical text box is titled "Fossil Revives" and reads "Unfortunately, along with being locked to full-odds, the fossils have only a 1% rate of being alpha when you revive them, making obtaining a shiny alpha fossil incredibly diffiuclt, similar to Legends: Arceus. For those that want to tackle the 1 in 409,600 chance of getting a shiny alpha fossil, I wish you luck!"
