Gang: My brother's scooter - literally his only means of independence - batteries died today. He can't get out of his car without it and would be well and truly stuck. If anyone can see their way clear to helping out or sharing this, so he can be out and about this Christmas.

Ummm... I have a surplus-to-requirements Windows gaming laptop - 2.5 years old. eBay search suggests the spec is worth around £500 used. I'd let it go for rather less to a pal (£400 inc. UK tracked delivery). Anyone interested before I eBay it?
