I once tried this argument on a “everyone who lives in a 51% red state is a demon, unlike the universally virtuous sweeties in my 49% red state” person. They reacted like I was speaking a dead language or something
the thing that kills me about “people in red states deserve to suffer” is we live in a red country under that definition and none of these people think that they themselves deserve suffering just because they live here
