I redid all the art in my zine to be monochrome and I gotta admit, it looks pretty sick 😭

I used a similar effect on a new piece I posed a few days ago, which made me remember it existed.

Her arms are bare. I drew this almost 2 years ago, so the art is pretty basic. Drawn full-body character art for Flare, who now has 5 levels barbarian and 3 levels blood hunter. It depicts an updated outfit, both with and without a jacket. While she looks stronger, the journey has had a negative effect on her body. Her copper skin tone has paled, her face looks gaunt, and she has dark circles under her eyes. Her eye color has changed to a dark red. Her stomach is bandaged, protecting an injury that never quite heals. On the left she is is wearing black pants, green boots, and a green/black sports bra like top. The green matches the patina copper develops as it’s exposed to the elements. Her arms have wires running through them under the surface of her skin. She has a series of lighter colored scars all over her arms from a magic-induced injury. The palms of her hands and fingers are scarred from daily Crimson Rites. On the right the outfit is the same, except she’s bandaged her arms and has a black cropped jacket on. Previously she lived the “sun’s out, guns out” lifestyle, but now she covers her unnatural metal “augmentations” from curious onlookers. (Someone in my group joked that Flare was playing Cyberpunk while they were playing D&D, so I tried to give her new clothing that vibe.)

I’ve never actually purchased a set of dice for TTRPGs. They’ve all been given to me by someone else.

It does drive me up the wall tho that the set I got in a Secret Santa bath bomb has an unusually small d4. The rest of the dice are the same size!

I always have a soft spot for robots in video games. I think Robo in Chrono Trigger was the first one to win me over.

Did some art of the last D&D game. My barbarian stopped our rogue from taking off, and got revenge for the time he took a (dangerous) item from her.

Immediately after the rogue’s player had an idea for a drawing that I decided to attempt.

Her expression is cheerful but her free hand is ominously curled into a fist. Renjith’s arms are folded and he’s scowling up at the viewer. Plot Context: Previously, Flare got ahold of a shield that she and her sentient sword could integrate with to give her new powers. However, the sword took over her body to intimidate the previous owner of the shield. This caused metal spikes to erupt from Flare’s body, which looked awesome but dealt some serious damage to her. The team was understandably concerned and wanted her to wait before using this item. Renjith grabbed the shield, and his dexterity beat Flare’s strength. He was able to get it away from her. She didn’t argue but wasn’t pleased. A few days later Renjith was attempting to get an item back from someone he had loaned it to at a lab. The party didn’t want him to do anything rash, but he took off by himself. They chased him down and cornered him in an office. Renjith attempted to slip past the party and escape, but this time Flare’s strength beat his dexterity. Sweet revenge. She was friendly about it, but Renjith was trapped in a headlock and dragged all the way back to their home base. A screenshot of a Discord conversation. I’ve been looking back with clearer eyes, and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remember. A good reminder not to be so hard on myself.

Made another map when I DMed the Redbrand Hideout in Lost Mine of Phandelver. It's basically just the module layout, but it was fun to make my own assets.

I told her I draw better now.

She has blonde hair with some darker brown hair growing in, bronze skin, and red eyes with traces of copper in them. She has three new piercings on the top of her left ear in copper, silver, and gold. Her red leather vest is significantly more damaged than the images before, and it has cuts that are sewn and reinforced in an amateur way. Her arms show several healed puncture wounds from metal spikes. The rendering is more complicated and painterly.

Got an office chair that's actually built to fit my 4ft 11in/1.5m frame. Turns out it was a lifechanging event.

It's got me feeling like:
A scene from Junji Ito's "The Enigma of Amigara Fault" that's often shared as a meme. It depicts a man crawling into a hole in a cliffside shaped like him while he shouts, "TH-THIS IS MY HOLE! The ribcage is missing the top right rib, as the artist had the same rib removed as part of her surgery for Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. A diagram of the nerves of the thoracic outlet, brachial plexus, and head are sewn onto the skeleton. The major nerves are done with thicker yellow embroidery thread, and the smaller ones with thinner yellow sewing thread. The painting was made with the colors French Ultramarine, Permanent Rose, and Raw Sienna. The majority of the skeleton is Raw Sienna, while the shadows are done with French Ultramarine and Permanent Rose. The right eye of the skeleton is filled in with Permanent Rose.

I made the first piece at the start of July. After that I went really hard on learning about Clip Studio Paint, and I think it shows!
