fb marketplace killed Craigslist and fb is the easiest place to set up a private 'group' for something. Probably other reasons, but that's what I use it for. I have a fake account and don't read the main page or whatever it's called, but i'd still be counted as 'using' it in that poll.

It is, I use it every day for a window into my headless mac mini I use as a server. Even has high speed mode in which activity on the remote machine is indistinguishable from an app on the host

vnc is built into macos (finder -> Go -> Connect to Server) but you may have to install/start it on your linux box. here's a tutorial i found that may be helpful
