I think, sadly, I agree. The coach needs to move player performance towards their potential at same time deploying tactics to maximise use of the squad, based on his ideas but crucially also in response to the other teams shape and tactics.
In the latter, he’s out of his depth.

Yep. I think of the games against Euro comp teams are a free hit.
