Hello big blue sky. I'm a new arrival from the disintegrating hell hole that reeks of lonely musk. I bring insights on AI, robotics, tech ethics, policy, space tech, and more. Occasional posts about music, cinema, and culture. And a dash of grumpy surrealism if I'm out of coffee.
The horrifying reality of X today. Just a hate domain run by a cryptofascist. Look at this: a story in two images.

Many critics believe that if students use AI systems, like ChatGPT, at university, college, or in school, they are simply cheating. The truth is rather different – and certainly more nuanced and interesting. What are the issues? diginomica.com/ai-education...
AI in education – don’t treat students as cheats for using ChatGPT, says conference
Lazy students are just handing in work generated by AIs, say critics. But is it as simple as that? And even if they are, why? The truth is more complex and...

Not wishing to sound like a grumpy old git – though I am old and rather grumpy – but the self-service machines were out at the Post Office yesterday, so the face-to-face desks were staffed. And guess what? The very long queue vanished in five minutes, as people got served more quickly. Simple.

Can I just, for the record, state that although I do make music from time to time, I am NOT the Chris Middleton who has released a parody song about Labour and been interviewed on GB News about it. He's an asshole. Thanks.

This is depressing. PM appears to rule out youth mobility scheme with EU on ground “freedom of movement is a red line.” That makes no sense. It falls far short of “free movement” because it only allows individuals to come for a limited period & does not allow them to settle in UK or EU member state
Oh come on Labour - so depressing to hear Pat McFadden say UK has no plans for a youth mobility scheme with the EU. We have schemes with NZ, Australia, Canada, Japan, Iceland, Uruguay & more - only reason not to have one with EU is fear of right wing press. Such cowardice @bbclaurak.bsky.social

I see Brighton's i360 has gone bust, owing the local public £50 million. Who would have thought that an enormously tall, complex engineering structure that could only be occupied by small numbers of people at a time might be a financial catastrophe? The vanity project of former Cncllr Kitcat, ofc.
