Lack of posting bc this new job has been some bs, but I'm currently injured and given no accomodations to work so I've been out all week. At least bills are mostly caught up? Staying vigilant on job hunting while trying to stay motivated to keep making art/building suits with what I've got is hard 😮💨

I received my first paycheck yesterday and I was able to pay bills that were due around this time last month, but the same bills are coming up again in less than a week. I still need help.
My body hurts from working the past 3 weeks. I'm hoping that I don't have to keep asking for assistance..

My first few days have been super stressful transitioning into long hours that are hard on my body/brain, and has left me little energy to do anything else when off work aside from shower and sleep--let alone devote xtra time for deliveries..

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on
