Going through more classic death metal bands, starting today with Cattle Decapitation - Death Atlus (2019). Haven't heard their early stuff yet but holy shiiiiiiit this is sick. I love the vocals, high pitched, gargling, evil, rhythmic and heavy. Some Mastodon vibes at parts? Idk but I love it

Back to the classic classic this morning. I first heard this when I was like 10? And I wanted to like it, I could like parts of it, but intense vocals were too rough for me. Now I long to hear Chuck's emotional, cursed banshee-esque wail every day. Deeply haunting like vocal chords filled with ants.
