it has since also managed to get disk images working, so quite impressive.

It did take 30 minutes of back and forth because it was attempting (and failing) to provide the program via a generated disk image to load into VICE. In the end i decided to try and paste it directly and it just worked.

basically we were frustrated at the existing offerings (either price wise or because they needed host applications) and i got to wondering if this, mostly boilerplate and ui faffing, wasn’t something an ai could easily do.
It needed a bit of hand-holding but it was fun

Fiendish. For all the hype, ChatGPT-5 and the latest Claude Code both fail miserably even with repeated attempts.
