I produced on mostly harmless teevee for a long time. Trying to be done with that. Dad stuff, nerd shit, six cats, charming grognard grievances for days.

Of course I knew this is what was coming. You probably did. But normies were not informed really at all no matter what the candidates were saying. And only like 25% of Americans are truly heinous and want a whites only America. We need the rest to see all this as a betrayal to end and salt this.

That voters didn’t understand this is what was coming is indicative of a poisoned and rigged information environment

***(The blame isn’t on us who knew schools had to close, it’s on the people who let the virus spread to where they had to.)

There’s actually lots to recommend the current paradigm (granted my experience is only in LAUSD) but its drawbacks aren’t being addressed and no one has good answers how to heal the developmental damage of the year we HAD to be locked down, a cost I wish got more attention from our side.

The paradigm is to track growth, from the previous test, toward a benchmark… instead of rating against achieving the expected level. (i.e. We care less that they aren’t passing and more that they grew 25% toward passing.)

College kids can’t read novels because they’re assigned short-form reading in place of novels in primary school, because iReady English tests off shortform.

They can’t follow instructions because tests and class activities are adaptive now, adjusting difficulty to their level, to track growth.

A year of remote schooling fucked up every grade level, it cannot be over-stated. It’s ALWAYS showing up — SEL, behavior, skills, etc.***

And a year of digital instruction revolutionized instruction for when they came back.

Everything is taught how the tests (i.e. iReady) are testing now.
