WHAT I'M GONNA DO: Either livestream, or timelapse a full painting every day (though I'm allowed to get ahead on sketches!) to get a grasp on this skill. I'm aiming to hit that fun geometric icon-ish style for each one. It'll be a challenge! I'll be doing my best.

28 days late but lately I’ve been REALLY into leroy so I’ll put this one up.It’s hard to draw the line between like and love (and to rank things in general) but this track is solid and that’s what counts. If I ever get another like I’ll put more thought into it

When I was drawing the second face I was BOTH considering each part of the face and their relationships as body parts AND considering just the line and space between

Apparently according to the book people would only do one or the other??? That doesn’t make sense to me

like it was going “oh you had to stop thinking like [how I was thinking] and switch over to [also how I was thinking”

what???? Are people limited to one???????

The exercise was a specific thing with drawing that vase / two faces illusion

In the end I’m super excited to continue along with this book and I’ll probably be showing more drawings as I do them

Number 3: My Hand

I LOVE drawing hands so this was my favorite. If I was any decent at pencil shading I would have done ham. I didn’t take a photo - just live reference - so it’s not super accurate but I think it came out really well.

Number 2: Self Portrait

Focused more on shading and stuff with this one because i had direct reference in front of me. Also because without it I’d look very stupid. Not that I don’t still - I tried so hard to draw myself decently but it’s hard to make ugly anything but

This is a coworker. I have pretty awful face blindness so i had a hard time remembering his face, and ended up messing some things up (that’s why his head is so squashed)

Maybe it means I’m a shell of a body only pretending to be a real person, maybe it means I need to watch more stuff
