This is a very good modern Trivia Game but does work best if everyone has a phone.

Issue 11 included rules for the Robotech Macross Saga characters for Teenagers from Outer Space.
I remember Minmay had "Wrap Boys Around Little Finger" at level 6, the highest possible.

We would have RPG parties where we would daisy chain 12 VCRs and play games while we copied classics like Fist of the North Star and Lum

This led me to It Came from the Late, Late, Late Show with it's awesome "acting appropriately stupid" rule. Had some fun with this back in the day.
I should break it out again and see how it holds up.

One of the best RPG experiences of my life was running the included module, which was a follow up to Stoker's Dracula for a group at the U of W club. I still get compliments on that game and have been asked to do a follow up many times.

The entire ghosts, vampires the boogiemen are all real, and you are part of secret society S.A.V.E. created to stop them, drew me right in

It was terrible!
I spent too long making a wizard. Died in the first 5 minutes of the game. I was told I was a stable boy grooming a horse. I had to roll DEX to do this, failed. The horse kicked me, I died.
Swore I would never play D&D again

I finally understood what all those numbers in my Monstrous Compendium meant and could play the Maze Module (sort of, it was D&D not AD&D2e)
My friend Steve and I would make characters and fight them.

I bought a lot of the splatbooks and used the reading guide to build my book library and dove deep into the genre. I love the aesthetic, the feel, the kinds of stories we told.

This became My Game. I ran Warhammer for years, for groups at the WGS and many home games. Played through most of The Enemy Within, explored Castle Drachenfels, and more.
I still love all things Warhammer Fantasy. For years I could run this without the book

I ran ridiculous one offs and an actual short campaign. I still to this day swear the game that said to ignore the rules had one of the best rulesets out there.

Heck Richard may have been there. It was uber intimidating and I felt ill after playing, but I loved it

This was such a step up from the yellow box, but we dove in and loved it. I now had more friends to play it with and we played the heck out of this system picking up a ton of splat books and adventures.

Remember those yellow/orange magic ink games? Well this was that in D&D form. The problem was that I thought it was stand alone, ends up you needed the D&D Rules (which I didn't actually have)
It was till fun

This was the first D&D thing I ever bought. Note I didn't have the rules, and none of the numbers made any sense, but I loved reading about all of the cool monsters, creatures, and humanoids.
I still have my binder.

Not to be outdone, my cousin needed his own #TTRPG. His parents picked him up Ghostbusters and he ran me though many missions.
His copy was lost during some basement floding and it has become a grain game for me. I have such fond memories of it.

This was my first RPG experience, reading the yellow box and then running the game for my cousin.
I still think starting with this vs. say D&D, gives me a very different perspective on what a #TTRPG can and should be.
Still have it.

I really dig this trick taker but I seem to be horrible at it;)
