Companies are using algorithms to set prices of apts and other homes. Thats why companies like Real Page have been sued by various states and the federal government. These agorithms time when an apt is allowed to be on the market and it colludes to set the prices.

Im so sorry to say this but there isnt enough housing. Should empty floors of commercial buildings be converted into apartments? Yes. That means updating zoning restrictions to allow people and cities to upzone cities and suburbs along with shorter term fixes right now.

What makes you not believe this? I believe Julie Menin is an important voice. I don’t think she should be City Council Speaker. I also want to know who voted for what. Maybe we need to mandate this vote be public in the charter.
