Teams organised around technology stacks and technical disciplines have about as much chance of achieving a business goal as a sack full of ferrets has of changing a lightbulb.

Smart companies organise around business outcomes.

I use URL search parameters to open dialogs.

URL structure:
/[workspaceSlug]/pipeline/[pipelineName]/[pipelineVersion]

Examples
• /[workspaceSlug]/?new
• /[workspaceSlug]/?settings
• /[workspaceSlug]/pipeline/?new
• etc.

Each dialog knows when to open/close. No global state to track any of that.

When your blog post starts with an obviously AI-generated cover that adds no value to it, I'm quite likely to just close the page immediately instead of scrolling past it.

MoshiX 0.33.0 drops the need for proguard rule generation, meaning you can use it and its IR code gen entirely without needing KSP 🎉

Release 0.33.0 · ZacSweers/MoshiX
Remove moshi-proguard-rule-gen. moshi-ir now includes a sourceless runtime artifact with embedded proguard rules that cover the same functionality. This also means that KSP is no longer required to...

I got a warm feeling seeing ‘@author Bob Lee’ in Signal’s source code. He was a kind friend and he built so much.

This is fantastic and @zacsweers.dev deserves all the praise but it also is gonna give you a false idea of what Z is like as a maintainer and author, what the project is like, and how you might achieve something like this yourself
Hot take: Dependency Injection on Android just got a huge upgrade!!

Square just moved Anvil to maintenance mode to adopt Metro - a DI framework built by ONE PERSON that's 47-56% faster than Dagger+Anvil.

This is what "individual developers changing ecosystems" looks like 🧵

The sun is setting earlier and the days are getting shorter – but Transit’s as bright as ever 💡

The winter blues are no match for the colourful hues of our redesigned dark mode 🌚

Dust off the heaters, unpack those sweaters, and head over to your Transit settings to try it out 🔆
