Yep, speech to text to speech using Amazon Polly (Amy voice originally). There is publicly available software now that will do similar but they all have a fairly significant delay of around 10 seconds minimum give or take depending on how fluid you want each sentence to be

Yeah I'm the same, my close friends know (partly because my disabilities may need an ambulance so emergency contacts around the world is good for safety) but letting it be too public is a recipe for disaster.

It suuucks, I allow people to at least know I live in Northern UK so anybody familiar with it knows how beautiful it can look but some areas are so easily identifiable it would give it away in a second to anybody who knows.

Unfortunately can confirm this having just had to ban someone who started spouting alt right insults. I like to lean on a don't bring up politics so it can be a safe space to have a reprieve from everything (for me and chat) but my stance on things is well known among my regulars

Adding to this, not sure of her current voice but I know her old voice was 100% an AI voice (specifically an AI voice created by Amazon). Before I learned to speak I had to use TTS too and the voice she used was one of the voices I had found.

The "best" I've had is someone's first time chat being asking me to be their gf... I'm not entirely sure how they thought that would result in anything other than a ban.

Meanwhile my mp (who insists she's a trans ally) got offended and told me it's insulting and disrespectful to point out (with sources and citations) that it's the case... Actually wait let me add to this, money is stupid, we don't need it. We should have an "economy" like in The Orville where people can do whatever they want and what they do gives value, whether that be arts or science or whatever else, but even the least capable still get a good life MINIMUM

I MIGHT be able to be convinced on adding tracking between countries but only to the extent of knowing what country people are in for logistics reasons for example. We shouldn't be divided by countries, we are all human so lets start being people of Earth and give up on tribalism (+ UBI everywhere).

Possibly my most woke opinion - countries as we know them shouldn't exist, the entire world should be similar to the EU in that movement is completely free across every country, with every country having a say in governance in the form of a council of equal representatives of each nation.
