Had a hard time finding the film I'm currently watching. Eventually found it, a Turkish film, dubbed into German with auto generated English Subtitles.

Confused me why the main character called her boyfriend 'Grandma'. Then I realised his name is Omar.

Omar = man's name
Oma = German for grandma

Time to start keeping tabs on the Gävle Goat. Built afresh every year, 42 out of 59 goats since 1966r have been destroyed, mostly by fire/arson. No fires since 2021 (though 2023's was destroyed by jackdaws...)

Is this year going to be a fire year?

Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

Today I voted for protecting nature.

The Lords added sensible, evidence-based amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill to strengthen nature protection. But the govt rejected them.

Ministers need to listen - to experts, to trusted organisations, and to the public.

Great result for @sussexwildlife.bsky.social in their fight against disastrous plans to dump dredging waste from Brighton Marina in the Beachy Head West Marine Conservation Zone. Congratulations and thanks to all involved.

My bad - Palace Pier - was just reading the headline and not thinking.
Brighton Pier up far sale as owners unable to afford to pay people minimum wage.

Who's up for a whip round, turn it into a community led jazz co-operative or something?
