5-star read: The Mars House by Natasha Pulley. I LOVED this science fiction novel set on Mars. Come for the woolly mammoths, stay for the fascinating conversation(s) about gender and bodily autonomy. I would like a sequel, please. (My reading buddy Fred the cat agrees.)

5-star read: How to Fall in Love in a Time of Unnameable Disaster by Muriel Leung. This novel about love and grief has an amazing title, apocalyptic acid rain, and a ghost cockroach, among many other bizarre delights. A rich read that I'll be thinking about for a while.

Making a resolution to post about the books I love in 2025! 5-star read: The Brides of High Hill by Nghi Vo. I've loved every one of Vo's novels, so there's no explanation for why it's taken me so long to read the Singing Hills cycle. More, please!!
