Sounds a bit like how ours wound up adopting us. Previous owner skipped town and he was left wandering the neighborhood so we took him in. Been with us 13 out of 18 years and we pray he goes nowhere anytime soon.

There's a season 2 episode that has a whole two minutes of this guy on screen, and while he's not particularly interesting in and of himself, his voice should be familiar- Matt Hill was a load-bearing pillar of mid-90s/early-00s (Canada-based) voice acting.
