Unfortunately despite the above photogenic imagery, the reality is Ichi was baffled by the mushrooms at best and at worst tired of her otherwise great walk being ruined by tromping back and forth over the same boring undergrowth

I’ve entered some kind of major writing dormancy period 🥲 But this weekend we went foraging & found 7lbs+ (!) of chanterelles and shrimp and lobster mushrooms. Auspicious 🍁

My most recent ice cream, made out of a lightly cocoa-y tea I’m obsessed with rn (tongmu jin jun mei). It was good but it was my first black tea aisu & I don’t think I got the milk hot enough to properly steep it this time 💧

Newest experiment: vanilla wasabi ice cream 🌱 Confession: I kept tasting & immediately adding more & more wasabi powder, distraught there was no wasabi taste AT ALL 😭 I used up almost my whole 40g bag so I went to order more and there. On the product page. “Mix powder with water—and wait 10 minutes”

My recent totally silly & random comfort read about a guy who gets transmigrated into the body of a fish, becomes the pet of a mute prince, & needs to stop said prince from becoming a tyrant. (Picked up bc it’s also…somehow…a romance) So cute….so cute o)-(

i love when an animal is resting and you can just tell they are absolutely committed to doing that and nothing else (despite the fact that 9.5 of the past 10 hours have also been spent “at rest”)

Still editing my photos, here's some en route Teshima Art Museum. It took us an hour to walk here from the ferry; the bus got too full & it turns out the island has one (1) taxi 💀 But we learned that the architects envisioned visitors approaching by walking through the town/fields so...great 🌟

we visited yufuin for halloween where i did not see many costumes, but did see cormorants at Tenso Shrine and finally some autumn color 🥹🍁 it’s the first torii i’ve seen that’s matched the kanji 鳥居!⛩

it’s been hard for me to keep up with socmed recently 🥲 but i’ll get this account started with a few photos i’ve taken in Aomori (the Nebuta Museum WA RASSE) and Osaka (in Dotonbori). and also this cheese miso in Sapporo which was startlingly 美味かった
The Nebuta Museum WA RASSE, which is covered in red “strips” that ripple down and sometimes part. In one of the partings is a shadow of a person carrying a child. A takoyaki store lit up at night. There’s a giant replication of a takoyaki, and people blurred as they walk underneath. Miso cheese ramen. The soup has three strips of white cheese on it, as well as shredded cheese.
