One of the best-sketched characters in an incredibly character-rich show: a fascist whose (potentially real!) redeeming qualities are continually undercut by his monumental pride, bigotry, entitlement and pettiness
The most realistic scene in DS9 is when Gul Dukat whined about how the Bajorans never erected a statue in his honor. A prophetic text.

I’ve been miserably ill for the last ~12 hours in another incidence of our household not having been fully well since October, so, bump!

Did work experience with a charity my mum volunteered at and realised that charities actually had paid employees! Then did a bunch of activism at uni and figured that once I graduated I’d combined the two. Started with an internship with a disability charity and have been bopping around ever since.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Two extremely charming things the #hatchling has started doing recently are giving us spontaneous little kisses and saying ‘hooray!’ a lot. She’s such a sweetheart! And full of joie de vivre.

Help us.
We have a series of stacking cups with animals on the bases. Most of them are readily identifiable (exhibit 1: snail), but we have two candidates hippos and I'm truly at a loss

(a) which is the hippo

and

(b) what the other one is

So I wrote two books. both are set in London, in winter, in 2021. One is an alternate future history, a sparse love story where a spad and civil servant work on Brexit together and fall unwillingly in love; the other is a sports anime, a post-pandemic f/f romance. here they both are:

Really enjoying how many people learned from my last tweet that James Acaster got dumped for Mr Bean. He's very funny (and sweet) about it.
Omg if this is new to you you must read what James Acaster says about it www.stuff.co.nz/entertainmen...

Yay, New York! Sending love from London. Sadiq Khan and Zohran Mamdani don’t have that much in common beyond being left wing Muslim mayors of major cities who make Trump et al absolutely lose their minds, but it is a good time.

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

Checking into a small hotel in Dublin with @krfabian.bsky.social a million years ago, the woman at the desk recognised my name and presumably panicked that this made it look like she remembered us bc we were lesbians, tried to cover with ‘oh, you have a memorable name!’ I do not.
do you ever have things that someone has said to you that live forever in your head (non-serious edition)? some older boomer hippie guy said “hahmmus gives you fahts” to me 26 years ago at a free fridge and i think of it every fucking single time i buy hummus to this day.

Oh thank god, finally cleared it.
The problem with playing a game that had such a long early access is that many guides are out of date. I keep looking up things for Hades II and then seeing this post was written a year ago and the abilities have changed since there. Keep seeing that I use the axe’s block, which no longer exists! 😭

And the toddler parent 4 word horror story: “no plans this weekend”.
I can do it in half: “cabinet reshuffle”.
In honour of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand.

The #hatchling has started really liking to have a book to look at in the buggy when we go to the childminder’s. Reading on her commute! What an excellent tiny Londoner.
