As someone who grew up in an observatory city that had light pollution regulations I cannot express how big of a pet peeve not trying to curb light pollution is.

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Sorry to make aurora borealis post # 5,279,428, but MAN they’re quickly becoming one of my favorite astronomic events.
Usually you know when there’s meteors showers, eclipses, etc. but you’ve got essentially no notice, and trying to chase the best viewing place/time is always an adventure.
