Fun fact: in order to get my rotation matrix to angle calculations correct, I just wrote something that automatically squiggled the variables around until it found the right combination

There was this pixel-art style in late 80s-early 90s arcade games that fascinates me, where the sprites and backgrounds were low contrast, but the characters had these really dark outlines, but only on one side.
I'm surprised I've never seen anyone bring it back, it's such a specific style!
