I always forget how silly Asuka's debut episode is, and it works. The way she and Shinji clash in terms of their personalities is great, Eva-02 is so sick, and I love Kaji's blend of goofy sleaze and calculating pro with Gendo and the Adam reveal. Some terrific animation and smears too!

IIRC, Jet Alone's Day Out tends to get some flack from folks, but I think it's a great spotlight for Misato. What makes her so interesting is how she can switch from a drunken slob to authoritative leader on a dime. It also shows how far Nerv will go on sabotage, too!

I find it really funny that Shueisha makes the English localization of JoJo change every band name reference to the point of it being silly, but Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi can name every attack after movies AND bands (including one that was a stand in Part 5) and it's A-OK.
