1) Draw the shape
2) Do the base colors
3) Thin out and remove the lines (keep them where the lips are touching and at the top and bottom that defines the unique shape)
4) Add shading with a slightly more saturated lip color
Of course you could add more shading and details but these are the basics 🩷

Lips are my favourite thing to draw... I spend so much time on the shape, I want to invest even more time on colours and shading and such!! But it's usually not worth it because nobody zooms in as much as I do 🤣

I noticed that I never posted any close-ups! I love how his signature cup turned out and I was hoping people would notice the pattern on the socks 🤭
Lucanis as a mafia boss. He's wearing a grey suit, purple socks with pink eyes on them and black shoes with dark pink soles. He's also holding a green apple because we still eat healthy in this AU. Even more obvious example (I gave myself a jumpscare with the "raw" piece). Just one burn layer sets the whole scene and increases the contrast to make the ribcage more prominent. Overall, for lighting heavy scenes I draw everything in neutral lights and add the coloured light source later.

This method works really well with skin tones. It's hardly recognizable in the first example but the contrast between the skin and the hair is smaller, there's a soft blur without making it blurry. The second one is more obvious. It takes away the harshness of the black colours and creates a mood. 🩷
