There are many advantages to living in the country, however, this isn’t one of them. Hope it all works out for you.

Yes, they’d sell them at Walmart.
November 27, 2025 at 2:32 PM
That’ll get you started, it just won’t charge your battery to full capacity. That’s what you need the trickle function for.
November 27, 2025 at 2:21 PM
Ah…got it. That may work.
Do you have someone who could follow you to the garage in case you have an issue mid-travel ?
November 27, 2025 at 2:19 PM
No problem. Hope I was of some help.
November 27, 2025 at 2:16 PM
Any automotive battery charger would work.
November 27, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Not sure why you think you need a “special kind” of battery charger.
November 27, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Sure, you could, but if it is actually the alternator, that’s only a temporary fix. Once THAT charge on your battery has been depleted, you’re back in the same boat. Heaven forbid if you’re out and away from your battery charger.
November 27, 2025 at 2:11 PM
You didn’t damage the battery.
November 27, 2025 at 2:02 PM
A new battery won’t fix an alternator issue.
November 27, 2025 at 2:01 PM
I wouldn’t order a new battery if it’s holding a charge. I would lean towards your alternator being the issue. If it isn’t charging your battery while you drive, eventually your battery will run out of juice and need to be recharged via a battery charger or jump.

If it is your alternator, charging your battery with a battery charger is only a temporary fix to at least get it in your garage. Can someone can test if your battery is holding a charge ?
If it is, your alternator isn’t doing it’s job keeping the battery charged as you drive.

I’m still calling a BS on their claim of having to remove the engine.
Check out Youtube on a how to (not suggesting you do it yourself, just to prove their claim is BS).
The most that would have to be done would be to unbolt a portion of the exhaust piping in order to move it out of the way.
November 27, 2025 at 1:26 PM
I have never heard of having to take the engine entirely out to fix an oil pan leak. Sounds like a BS story to bilk you out of a lot of money.
November 27, 2025 at 1:07 PM
That gasket needs to be replaced.
How often do you check your oil level ?
November 27, 2025 at 1:01 PM
Alternator charges your battery as you travel.
November 27, 2025 at 12:49 PM
Do you know what kind of gasket ?
Oil pan gasket ?
November 27, 2025 at 12:49 PM
Lol..
November 27, 2025 at 12:48 PM
Perhaps it’s your alternator then.
November 27, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Combustion engine or EV ?
